In Vino Veritas is a first-person psychological horror adventure set inside a ruined cathedral and the tunnels dug beneath it. There is no weapon, no health bar and no map — only a flashlight, a box of matches, a notebook, and a building that does not want to be understood.
The story is built on a contested Italian reading of the Hebrew word Elohim: a plural noun that, in that reading, names many ancient and warring entities rather than a single god. In the fiction of the game, one of them never left. It has been waiting under the cathedral for centuries, patiently shaping a prophecy around itself — and the wine poured at its altar is made from its blood.
"The Bible was mistranslated. The truth is far darker."
— In-game premise
Drinking is not optional. Each chalice you empty peels back another layer of what happened here: a vision, a memory that is not yours, a corridor that was not there a minute ago. It also makes you easier to find. Something walks these halls looking for the same thing you are, and the puzzles sealing the cathedral shut were never built to protect the treasure — they were built to keep the creature away from it.
The result is a slow, oppressive walk through candlelight and stained glass, where progress and damnation are the same mechanic.
